Objectives:

  • Promote maintenance of over-the-road chassis in safe and operable condition.  Highway safety depends upon a commitment by all parties to conduct thorough and periodic chassis inspection to ensure that equipment is delivered and maintained in good condition, with repairworthy defects identified and corrected.

  • Encourage high chassis inspection standards and competency of personnel in the intermodal industry.

What You Will Learn:

Students review in detail IICL's Guide for Container Chassis Inspection & Maintenance, Fourth Edition, which includes sections on types of chassis with accompanying photographs; inspection procedures; repairworthiness and typical damage and wear with accompanying photographs of chassis conditions; and inspection criteria for chassis, as well as sections on Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.  Vendor representatives who are experts in the specialized fields of brakes, tires and factory production give presentations that offer valuable, up-to-date product information.  Vendor presentations are designed to give students the opportunity to ask questions and discuss and solve problems they face during daily operations.

Who Should Attend:

Gate Inspectors, Mechanics, Surveyors, Shop Foreman, Chassis Operations Personnel and Logistics Personnel

Course Fee: US $375.00. Course fee includes IICL’s Guide for Container Chassis Inspection & Maintenance, Fourth Edition. ($60 value)
