Services:

Storage and repairs/maintenance of all types of containers (including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, GRP/FRP, reefers and tanktainers) as well as gensets and repairs on reefer machinery. Other services offered include refurbishing, steam cleaning, washing, aluminum and stainless steel welding, painting and CSC inspections.

Facility:

TESCO operates 7 depots in Chile, located in Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, ValparaÌso, San Antonio, Santiago & Talcahuano. The total combined area of the 7 depots is 240,000 m2. Each depot includes a paved workshop averaging 300 m2, including a covered workshop in ValparaÌso. Each facility is located at the most economical distance from pier/terminal.

Equipment:

The depots are equipped with 12 toplifters, 4-high stacking, 1 side lifter, 11 high-pressure steam cleaners & 12 welding & cutting machines (manual/MIG), 1 foam injection machine & 1 freon-recovery machine. ValparaÌso and San Antonio feature a mobile repair unit, refurbishing equipment and 2 X 175 KVA power packs mounted inside 20' dry containers.

Repair capacity:

Average of 300 man/hour-days. In last 3 years, TESCO has performed an average of 18,000 repairs per year to dry vans & 7,000 to reefers.

Personnel:

The company employs a total of 106 people, including engineers, technicians, highly skilled workers & clerical personnel. 18 (19%) of them are IICL-certified inspectors.

Computer systems:

An IBM AS-400 computer system is in use for accounting invoices, yard, stock and repair control. CCIE 3.6 (from Sterling Commerce) is used for gate moves, repair estimate transmissions and tariffs.

Services are directed toward all owners and operators of sea containers and modular equipment. Shipping Lines & Operators-emphasis is centered on cost, the automation of reception and dispatch services, inventory information online, and repairs according to both cost and quality standards. Offer special services for reefers and containers for the carriage of liquid and solid bulk commodities. Supply parts and spares for all types of containers, chassis and gensets. Leasing Companies-focus on quality and cost of repairs, the handling of their equipment with appropriate lifters as well as storage & inventory control of containers & equipment through EDI systems for estimates, approvals, and invoicing. Specialist Operators-services cover the full range for cargo operators who require systems and procedures tailor made to their individual needs, for optimum results. Depositos y Contenedores has the capacity to service steel, aluminum, reefer, and tank containers; reefer machinery and parts; carrier dealers; spare kits for ships and chassis. The depot repairs both reefer structure and machinery with IICL norms. Depositos provides in-port service for units which guarantees proper functioning before loading. Also offered is an Emergency Service number 800-202-014, which operates 24 hours a day. Depositos, through its subsidiary SpaceWise also offers storage and modules.

Facility:

The depot covers a total of 104,000 m2 over five depots in Santiago, San Antonio, Talcahuano, Iquique, and Valparaiso.

Equipment:

The depot is equipped with reachstackers, cranes, welding and cutting machines, mobile repair units, blasting and painting booths, and cleaning equipment.

Computer systems:

Depositos y Contenedores uses CDS 49 a program developed for processing the movement of containers, including costs of maintenance and repair, reports of the process itself and update worldwide of the entered information.
