This 3 day course will offer intensive instruction of IICL reefer container inspection and repair. Other topics planned for the course will be drawn from the following: reefer body and machinery construction and operation, refrigerant conversions and CFC’s. Depot sessions will provide practical demonstrations of principles discussed in class. Students will practice inspecting damaged reefers, observe repairs in progress (including foaming), participate in PTI reviews and view CFC conversions. Prior to the course, students will be asked to submit questions regarding the machinery portion of the equipment, which will be answered by guest speakers.
Experienced technical experts in the reefer container field will lead classes. The course textbook used is the third edition of the IICL General Guide for Refrigerated Container Inspection and Repair, a copy of which will be provided to all registered students.
In order to maintain a high level of individual attention, enrollment will be limited. Early registration is recommended to ensure a place in the course. The course will be conducted in English, with Chinese translators present.
The classes will be conducted at the Donghwa Container Transportation Service Company depot in order to maximize time spent reviewing damages, repairs and presentation by guest speakers.
The IICL reserves the right to make modifications to this schedule as required.
Course Tuition: US$1,000.00. Tuition includes instruction, IICL Reefer Manual, 3rd Edition and farewell lunch.
Registration & Payment Deadline: February 15, 2008. Enrollment will be taken in the order in which registrations with payments are received; a waiting list will be started if needed.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds will be given for any cancellation received by February 15 , 2008, less a $100 cancellation fee. After this date, no refunds will be given, but alternate attendees may be designated at no charge. Courses are subject to cancellation at any time in which case full refunds will be given for the course tuition only. Refunds WILL NOT be given, however, for flight arrangements or hotel accommodations.
